I am a photographer and videographer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I attend school at Drake University and am majoring in Digital Media Production and Graphic Design.
I have been taking photos for close to four years now, it has always been an interest of mine but I never knew I could do it as a career. Now, I have had numerous positions, getting to work in the field and growing my passion for photo/video.
My love for photography and its different aspects has only grown since I have come to college. I have gotten to ride and film in Corvettes’s going 90 around the Newton Speedway, photograph headlining music artists, and become the director of photography for one of the top 100 college magazines in the country.
Since starting my production company in 2020, I have been able to work with some amazing clients and gain so much experience along the way. Not only has owning a business taught me more about photography, but I also gained amazing life and real-world experiences.
As a business owner, I get to see the ins and outs of working for myself, like figuring out my taxes, or building contracts and finding clients. These are all things that I couldn’t really ask my parents about, which was a first for me.
I have always been able to direct my questions to my parents. Whether it’s school, life, or whatever, my parents could answer it. Having to face new challenges on my own allowed me to grow as a person and understand myself better.
When I am not taking photos, I love to be outdoors. Now, this does usually involve having my camera with me, but I don’t count that as work! I love being able to go on road trips and hikes out west, being able to be in the mountains and in some fresh air. Being with my friends outdoors is one of my favorite things because I have no stress or worry. Just me and the earth, that’s it.
In August of 2022, I was able to take a solo road trip to Colorado. On this road trip, I drove 3000 miles in 5 days, saw five different national parks, and took 5000 photos. These opportunities allow me to grow as a person and as a photographer.
